Tee Ball
Tee Ball is the entry-level division for players, focusing on fun, fitness, and fundamentals. It centers on instruction and can often be one of the most rewarding for volunteer coaches.
Players are introduced to the basics: throwing, catching, hitting, positions, and baserunning. Coaches are on the field to provide instruction and serve as umpires. Players use bats and baseballs designated specifically for use in this division. Tee Ball is required for new players 5 and younger.

Eligibility
Boys and girls ages 4 through 6 are eligible to play.
6-year-olds are eligible for Coach-Pitch Baseball, but will have a significantly better experience there after a season of Tee Ball. SPLL may still recommend your 6-year-old remain in Tee Ball for their safety or development.
7-year-olds are likely to be ready for Coach-Pitch, but may be considered for Tee Ball if most appropriate for their safety and development.

Scheduling
Season
The season begins the week after SPSD's April break, and concludes the Saturday after the SPSD school year ends.
Evaluation
There is no player evaluation at this level.
Games
One on a weeknight (varies week to week), and one on a Saturday. Games are delightful chaos. They are not competitive, but are deeply instructional and often highly entertaining.
How can my player prepare for the season?
Play catch. Get them used to throwing balls overhand and fielding balls rolled toward them. Talk to them about what makes baseball fun.
