South Portland Little League is celebrating its 75th anniversary!

Through research and the help of our friends at the South Portland Historical Society, we've learned the first Little League games in South Portland were played in 1951.

That makes 2026 our 75th anniversary!

The South Portland American Little League and South Portland National Little League were organized the following year, and later the Sunset Park Little League and South Portland Central Little League would follow. Softball programs were founded and evolved into their own league before re-merging with Little League in 2023.

We’re working to learn more and are eager to re-surface parts of our shared history. We hope you’ll be part of that effort.
