Mini-Majors Softball
Mini-Majors softball is intended for players who have mastered the basic competencies of throwing, fielding and catching in softball. Players will range in age from 8 to 10 depending on experience, skills and abilities. This level is a combination of player-pitch and coach-pitch. Players are required to wear a protective face guard when in the field, and batting helmets are required to have a face mask attached.

Game Play
Pitching
Players do all of the pitching. Pitching at the Majors level is significantly faster than at the Mini-Majors level.
Stealing allowed?
There is no base-stealing at the start of the season, but the goal is for teams to begin teaching the skill so that it may be implemented before the end of the season.
How can my player prepare for the season?
Play catch. Practice the mechanics of throwing with a focus on accuracy. If they own a bat, practice swinging for strength and improving their stance. Learn the basic terms and rules of the game. Players should attend off-season clinics when possible to learn pitching (if interested) and hitting/catching.
